My lovely Canadian friend Melanie had her first baby recently: a boy called Conor Alexander. So I whipped up a sweet little knitted pram blanket for him:

The wool was all Debbie Bliss stuff that I had left from other projects. I knitted the squares in moss stitch (which I love – it’s quite slow, but it knits up with a great texture), and then I sewed them together, and then crocheted around the outside edge.

I’m really pleased with how it turned out and I wish I’d had more wool available, so it could have been a bit bigger! Never mind – Melanie and her family live in the snowy Canadian mountains, so the blanket should help to keep the chill off Conor’s little knees when he’s out and about this coming winter.
