This morning I volunteered at the local St Vincent de Paul charity shop for the first time. The North Shore is home to several SVP conferences, and together they organise enough volunteers to run the shop five days a week. Ordinarily Saturdays are very quiet, but today we had a pretty successful morning and made $160. I contributed $5 of that by buying two paperbacks and this cool vintage badge:

This was my second bout of SVP volunteering this week – I also pitched in at my conference’s fortnightly food bank on Thursday morning. That was an eye-opener.
