I’m Jacq.

On 24 July 1997 I moved to England. I was 22 years old and I had one suitcase, a one-way ticket, a New Zealand passport, a British passport and £1,000 to my name.

A long time passed. I wrote a blog: Exiled New Zealander. The original version is here. The more recent version is here.

On 8 April 2011 I moved to back to New Zealand with my husband (Tristan) and dog (Tui). I was 36 years old and had accumulated a house (recently sold), a lot of books and clothes, some furniture, a fantastic assortment of friends around the world, and a fair bit of work experience.

My life in the UK is over and my adult life in New Zealand is just beginning. This blog chronicles what happens next.
